Max Quick: the pocket and the pendant by Mark Jeffrey

I was not all that thrilled to read this book at first...yes, I judged this book by its cover.  I was, however, pleasantly surprised by what I found inside.  This book had time travel and time "stopping", adventure, action AND a lot of wonderful quotes about how powerful words are.  I have always believed that words are power, but in this story, words are magic and can transport the characters into different periods of time.  Don't let the so-so cover fool you, this was a good sci-fi book.
